Wireless Sensor Network Technology
coalesenses offers a collection of hardware and software for wireless sensor networks, a technology for literally giving eyes and ears to modern control and information systems.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of so called sensor nodes, a combination of sensor technology and tiny battery driven computers that are equipped with a wireless communication interface. Deployed in within the area of interest, the devices organize into a network and allow for monitoring of processes, environmental conditions and events. In such an ad-hoc wireless network all sensors nodes also act as routers and forward data cooperatively to one or multiple gateway nodes. These gateways are connected to other networks or the internet.

Acquired data, reports or alarm notices can then be automatically forwarded to all kinds of information systems. Like this, the vision of extending the internet into the real-world becomes true. Information systems can automatically update themselves and synchronize with the actual state of a monitored structure or process. Such near-real-time information enables early intervention, and helps to prevent abnormal behavior, malfunction, damages and other dangerous situations.
